Other deodorants just weren’t good enough and contained too many ingredients that Diana with her post-chemo multiple chemical sensitivities reacted to, so we made a better one! Our acclaimed Terressentials Organic Frarance-free is a unique, science-based herbal and mineral deodorizing base that we formulated to help neutralize the sulfur compounds that can result from eating garlic, onions and strong spices. Deodorants are personal care products that are applied every day to a very sensitive area of the body--the armpit, adjacent to your breasts. Why is it so important that your deodorant be as healthy as can be?

Medical statistics tell us that the majority of breast cancers occur in the upper outer quadrants of the breasts and that, if there is lymph node involvement, those cancerous tissues are typically the lymph nodes closest to or in the armpit!  And--hello--breast cancer is on the rise in the male population also. So--what's the connection? What's in the deodorant or anti-perspirant that you've been using?

We have one additional important news item. A researcher in the UK, Dr. Philippa Darbre**, was very concerned about the dramatically increasing numbers of breast cancer and the similarity in the locations where she was finding the tumors in her research. She began to suspect that the tumors might be triggered in part by externally applied chemicals and decided to investigate her hypothesis. When Dr. Darbre sent breast cancer biopsy tissue samples to her lab, she gave the lab a list of suspicious chemicals commonly used in deodorants and asked them to analyze the tumors for the presence of chemicals from the list.  Dr. Darbre was concerned when she reviewed the lab results. The lab found residual personal care product chemicals in the breast tissue samples, notably, they found preservative/deodorizing chemicals in nearly all of the samples that they tested.

So, please be aware of and cautious of synthetic chemicals and non-organic botanical ingredients that you rub into your body--particularly on or near your breasts. When you read our ingredient labels, you won't find synthetic ingredients like aluminum chlorhydrate, propylene glycol; NO GMO oleochemical or fatty acids and/or waxes, or useless butters or GMO oils; NO GMO xanthan or other gums; NO petrochemical or GMO "natural" "fragrances," NO preservatives like parabens, phenoxyethanol, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate or other chemical preservatives. Our deodorant was specially formulated by us in 1999 with only natural minerals and certified organic botanicals and essential oils that work together synergistically to help neutralize the sulfur compounds that can result from eating garlic, onions or strong spices! Our Terressentials Organic Fragrance-free Deodorant is our best option for sensitive folks to try.  It is an effective roll-on deodorant that contains no essential oils and has been used by both men and women for more than twenty years! It was originally formulated in 1999 and certified to the USDA National Organic Program way back in 2004--one of the world's first certified organic personal care products!

**Professor Dr. Philippa Darbre is Professor Emeritus--oncology--at the UK School of Biological Sciences at Reading University.  Dr. Darbre's specialty field is estrogen and breast cancer with a particular interest in Environmental Toxicology, and she is a member of the Molecular and Cellular Medicine Group and a senior advisor to the European Commission's Committee on Health and Environmental Risks. In addition, she is also on the editorial board for the Journal of Applied Toxicology, and Hormone Molecular Biology and Clinical Investigation. (Dr. Darbre is one of our heroes!)
